Do I Want a Nose Ring or Nose Stud?

Getting wholesale body jewelry like wholesale stainless steel jewelry and wholesale titanium jewelry has increasingly gained popularity over the past couple of years. This is because there have been many fresh styles and designs created by wholesale body jewelry manufacturers.

One of the earliest and most popular modifications to piercing is nose piercing. All over the world, studs and rings are both worn through the septum or in the nostril. Nose piercing is important to a lot of cultures. In India, brides have ornate gold rings that are connective to earrings with ornate chains. In the Amazons, tribesmen wear bird feathers and bones through enlarged septum piercings.

The curve of the nostrils is considered the most common place in making nose piercings. Placement of the jewelry pierces can be anywhere in the nostril, hinging on the wearer's preference. Typically, a cork is put into the nostril so that it can catch the needles' end, while a straight needle is pushed through. People interested in nose piercing have to get a reputable piercer and not allow themselves to be subjected to piercing using tools such as ear piercing guns.

Along with the many available kinds and designs of wholesale body jewelry, wholesale titanium jewelry and wholesale stainless steel jewelry, there are also many types of nose piercings. One of them is nostril piercing, which is healed with a ring or a stud-style item of jewelry. Studs are maintained with the help of a stud earring, or a nostril screw. The shorter post ends in a semi-circle turn, so that the jewelry screws in and pops down to stay in place. This style has become trendy again since it is secure and comfortable to the wearer.

Another common placement method for nose piercing is by way of the septum, which is the piece of tissue separating the side of a nose. Avoiding the major piece of cartilage found at the edge of the nose, and then going through softer tissues is important. The placement is also considered in the selection of a ring-style jewelry to enable the initial piercing not to be place too low. Usually, a small ring is used in this kind of piercing. U=shaped septum retainers can also be used, especially if the wearer still has to heal the piercings.

Both nostril and septum piercings may take anywhere from 6-12 weeks for them to heal. To support proper and immediate healing of the piercing, it is important to maintain good health. Fresh piercings need to make use of a stainless surgical steel stud for established piercing. It is also advised that wearers change pillow cases regularly during the healing period.

Usually, nose piercings do not mend as easily and promptly like most people assume. Compared to pierced ears, pierced noses do not heal fastly and easily. The nose has a tissue which is a hard yet flexible material in the body. Blood flow is not as plenty as compared to soft tissues, which is the kind of material forming the lobes of the lower ear.

Accidental snag or yank, or a rubbing from nose stud which is too tight, can cause a kind of scar tissue named a keloid. This is the kind of bump that almost all piercers talk about.

Getting a nose stud or a nose ring would depend on what your taste and preference is. Nose studs are usually more low profile while there are generally more styles available for nose rings which would let you flaunt your nose piercing with style. Whatever kind you decide to get, make sure that you would be consulting with your body piercer on how you can take care of the new nose piercing even before you have your nose pierce.

Once you have decided on what kind of nose jewelry to get, you could then go online and search for the great wholesale body jewelry manufacturers that offer the finest selections of wholesale titanium jewelry, wholesale stainless steel jewelry and a lot more.

Swimwear: evolution and changing trends

The history of swim wear - be it menswear or women's wear - makes fascinating study. Women's swim wears have always been a heated topic in the fashion industry and there has been several changes in women's swim wear according to the trends of the passing eras. Women's swim wears were initially introduced with the purpose of covering up certain essential body parts of those women who were daring enough to bathe publicly. Since then, there have been several changing styles and functions of the female bathing suit. It is indeed amazing to know that so much has been achieved in the swim wear with such scant material.

The first known use of a bathing costume was in Greece during 350 B.C. The fourth century mosaic wall was discovered depicting girls dressed in what resembles the modern-day bikinis. But, swim wear went out of fashion after the fall of the Roman Empire when water sports were no longer encouraged and the prudish Europeans regarded the sea more as a source of physical therapy than recreation.

Spas where men and women together engaged in public bathing began in France and England during the 18th century. The typical swim was nothing more than a brief symbolic dip in the water with ladies on one side of the beach and men on the other.

The earliest bathing suit was an old smock more in the nature of a bathing gown. Thus these suits were far from comfortable and ladies started sewing lead weights into the hem of the bathing gown to prevent any indecent exposure.

The early 1800's were presumably the starting point of a revolution in swim wear when Americans openly and publicly flocked to the beaches for seaside sports and recreation.

When public swimming, sun bathing and water sports became increasingly popular, the time was ripe for change in women's swim wear. The necessity arose for a specially designed swim wear that not only protected one's modesty but also convenient enough to engage in swimming and sports activities.

By the end of the 19th century, swimming had come to be recognized as an acceptable form of water activity and as well as an intercollegiate and Olympic sport. By the 1880's the women's swim wear was introduced, consisting of a blouse and trousers in one piece. There was also a separate skirt that extended below the knee with buttons at the waist to conceal the figure.

Then we had the swimsuits that started gradually exposing more and more skin. The beginning of the twentieth century signaled a bold era in swim wear for women. After that swimsuits began the trend of becoming more transparent and briefer. This was followed by a bikini or two-piece women's swimwear consisting of two separate items - one covering the breasts and another covering the groin or the entire buttocks region. The rest of the torso was left uncovered.

As the women's swim wears witnessed a gradual evolutionary process, men's swim wear also underwent many changes over time. From the beginning men's swim wear was distinctly different from the female's suit, with pronounced characteristics of boxiness and solidity contrasted with the exaggerated curves of the women's wear.

Though men were beginning to look sexier, there was still some controversy regarding baring the chest. However, men continued to fight for their right to expose their chest and by the early 1933, we had a convertible-style suit that allowed the top to be removed.

With women's suits becoming more and more daring and flamboyant during the 1950's and beyond, the male bathing costume saw an explosion of color patterns and fancy artwork.

10 attention hoarding shirts

Subscribe in a Reader

DON'T FORGET TO COMMENT ON THIS ARTICLE

by Ceirwin Bennett

Guess what? One of the most popular gifts people give are shirts. They match every possible occasion and some are very budget friendly. The only problem in giving out shirts is sometimes, you do not know what shirt to buy because the person might already have what you have in mind.

There are only way a few ways to approach this. Try using the 2 step plan. First, investigate if that person has it already. Ask the person's siblings or parents or whoever the closes one is. If you are the closest to the person and you know the shirts, you won't have any problem with this. The second step is by buying a unique shirt that you know he won't have one yet or you can even make a customized shirt to make it more unique.

Here are ten of what I call attention grabbing and cool t-shirts!

http://img120.imageshack.us/img120/3113/shirt1weinerfw5.jpg
1. The Weiner Shirt- If you are feeling naughty, this might be the right shirt to give! What better way to start your day than someone asking you about what they may see inside the pen?

http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/3892/shirt2washroomth5.jpg
2. Washroom Secrets Shirt- tired of the conventional washroom signs? Girls won't like signs like these but guys will flock in droves just to really see what's in a place with a sign like that. Of course, since this is a shirt, it's just giving the girls a hint of your playful side.

http://img120.imageshack.us/img120/127/shirt3bananahn1.jpg
3. Banana shirt- Would you put a banana in your pocket? I know I wouldn't. Girls might consider a banana in the pocket as a compliment but guys wearing shirts like this will look so gay that, some bananas will just rot away instantly because as we all know, bananas can't be confined in an area with limited air and space. They must be freed and liberated!

http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/3330/shirt4dadvc4.jpg
4. Dad#2 Shirt- Father's day just concluded and this might not be the best gift for your biological dad. In this world, nobody gives a fudging care about number 2. You would know who won the NBA finals back in year 2000 but you wouldn't remember the second placer.

http://img120.imageshack.us/img120/3554/shirt5drunkvo9.jpg
5. Drunken Shirt- Cops, give way! Those breathalyzers just suck! No one could beat them anyway. Eating mints won't help. Neither putting a coin under your tongue. I've tried them all. Just ask for a ticket.

http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/2756/shirt6epicwi6.jpg
6. Epic/ Legendary Shirt- Now, this is what I am talking about. I wonder how many girls would be fooled by this shirt only to find out that the actual size may vary. Can't you see it? It has a fine print there.

http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/1482/shirt7worldas6.jpg
7. Globe Pointing Shirt- Remember when you were a kid and you would spin the globe pointing randomly in a place and you will say, "this is where I want to live."? Well, I always end up in the Atlantic Ocean.

http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/6493/shirt8grandmans0.jpg
8. Grandma's Death Shirt- excuses are also energy drainers. You have to create a believable yet strong reason to get the sympathy of the other. Some do not care at all and this shirt explains it all.

http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/504/shirt9stupidsw8.jpg
9. Stupid Shirt– Please, do not wear this with your partner unless you mean it. It is just the same thing as saying I love you. Do not say it unless you really mean it.

http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/6702/shirt10brainsza8.jpg
10. Brains Shirt- Some shirt are just better than the others. Some are blessed with big brains more than the other. Human beings can't be contented easily. Now, after being blessed in a way or another, they still want other blessings to come. One big blessing is enough. Two is too many. And by the way, this is the most "attention-grabbing shirt of them all"!

A unique gift will make sure that people remember what you gave them. In case they still forget what you gave them, I suggest you hit them in the head and the bump will make sure that they will remember your gift and they might mark it as the most memorable one!

Why We Love Our Blue Jeans - Part 1

Subscribe in a Reader

DON'T FORGET TO COMMENT ON THIS ARTICLE

by Howard Brule

Why do we love our blue jeans so much? It's not so hard to understand. Jeans are comfortable, they last a long time, they're not terribly expensive, and they are fashionable. You can wear them for casual get togethers or dress up affairs, for lounging around watching TV, or for working at the office or in the garden. You can even wear them for your next guest appearance on the Jay Leno show. As the expression goes, you can live in your jeans.

Who Originally Created Jeans?

There is no one "inventor" of jeans. Believe it or not, they evolved over a long period of more than 400 years. They started out as versatile and rugged pants worn by sailors and turned into the everyday uniform now worn by millions of people around the world.

Traditional jeans are made of a woven cotton fabric called denim. Denim is a rugged cotton twill material with a distinctive diagonal weave that makes it very tough and very versatile.

This distinctive fabric was popularized in Europe. But a similar thick cotton cloth had been made in India since before the 1600s. That older material was called dunagree - the origin of the term "dunagarees" - which was normally dyed in indigo blue and sold in the district near Dongarii Fort on the outskirts of the Indian city of Bombay. Bombay was a major port on the important spice route between Europe and China. Portuguese sailors on trading vessels were the first regular users of dungaree clothing, and they introduced it to other points along the trading routes.

By the 1600s a similar cloth was being woven in France near the city of Nimes where it was called "serge". The name "serge de Nimes" was soon shortened to "denim", and the rest is history.

The term "jeans" came about because denim trousers were manufactured in the Italian port of Genoa, which is pronounced "Genes" in French. The durable pants were first used by sailors in the Genoese navy. Like teenagers of today, these sailors practically lived in their clothes, which made the denim fabric ideal. The sailors could wear the denim either wet or dry, and it is easy to roll the legs up for swabbing the deck. They could also wash the 'jeans' by putting them in a large net, and dragging them behind the ship.

You can't get any better than that!

How to Keep the Mind Strong in Your Golden Years

Subscribe in a Reader

DON'T FORGET TO COMMENT ON THIS ARTICLE

by Jane Jenkoff

As we get older we stop using parts of our brain and these areas become weaker and can lead to faster senility, but there are things that can help slow down this process and kelp keep your brain strong well into the latter years of your life.

Extensive studies have been done on the human mind to see why the human brain deteriorates faster in some then with others and what they found was that people who keep themselves busy have a tendency to retain their capabilities better then people who after retirement just spend their time around the house or fishing.

Those who keep busy in activities that require heavy thought and concentration will seem to age slower.

Gambling is an activity that seems to work well in keeping the mind young in many people around the world. There are many people in their 80's that have been playing in a regular poker game for years. Not only is poker a game that requires the use of several parts of the brain it is also a social experience. While you are playing you are also talking and joking around with the other players, which also keeps those different parts of the brain well lubricated.

Blackjack is another card game that is good for the brain. Blackjack requires the use of short term memory. Exercising this part of the brain is very important in the fight to stave off senility. Most people think there is nothing to blackjack except trying to get a hand as close to 21 as possible, but there is much more to it then that. Players need to know how each card affects their hand and the dealer's hand. If you have ever sat at a blackjack table in a casino you will see its not really about getting the best hand its all about trying to get the dealer to bust, and this takes a good knowledge of the odds and memorization.

Where as some casinos games are good for your brain, this is not always the case. Where as a game of skill will exercise the brain and help keep the mind working most games of luck will not have the opposite effect, you do not start becoming senile faster because of the game you play, but a game that requires skill to be good at the game will slow the process and keep you feeling young will into your golden years.

But not all games are good for the mind. Some casino games can actually have the reverse effect. Playing the slots will not speed up the slowing down of your brain, but it does nothing to stop or reverse the effects of old age. Games like slot machines and roulette are games of luck with no real skill involved. Games like this have no beneficial traits for keeping a strong and healthy brain.

Gambling is not the only thing that can help. Anything that forces you to do some thinking and concentration is healthy for your mind. Believe me exercise your mind and it will stay young longer.

Jane Jenkoff works in Hospital with Alzheimer's patients. She also writes online casino reviews and plays online poker regularly.

Luxury Timepieces in Diamond

DON'T FORGET TO COMMENT ON THIS ARTICLE

by Jonathan Blocker

It's safe to say the diamond watches are perhaps the final word in luxury watches. Men's diamond watches are manufactured by many different companies around the world; these and other quality men's watches come in numerous styles as well. You may be interested to know that while watches have been around for several hundred years, men's wrist watches are a fairly new innovation, and such diamond watches for men have only been around for a few decades.

Timeless History

Although the idea of the mechanical clock dates back six thousand years in China and India, the technology that made the development of men's watches possible wasn't developed until around the year 1400 in Europe. Even then, it was well over a century before this was miniaturized enough to make a portable timepiece practical.

The first mens watches were actually word on a chain around the neck, and were rather bulky by today's standards. Wrist watches for women were available from around 1560 onward (Queen Elizabeth I was given one by her favorite – and according to some rumors, lover – Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester), but these were small clocks that dangled from the wrist, not worn on a band like many modern diamond watches and other kinds of men's wrist watches.

The first "modern" wrist watches were actually luxury watches for women; the ladies "bracelet watch" came out in 1868. Mens watches were of the pocket-and-fob-chain variety; until the advent of "manly" activities such as deep-sea diving and piloting aircraft, in which pocket watches were impractical (but keeping accurate time was vital, lest one run out of air or fuel).

Men's Diamond Watches Today

Diamond watches are also known as "jewelry watches." The premier manufacturers of men's diamond watches today are Harry Winston and Rolex. These are extremely expensive, however; top-of-the-line luxury watches by Hary Winston can go for as much as $13,000, while men's wrist watches by Rolex start at around $5000 and top out at around $16,000.

Obviously, such luxury watches are not for everyone. However, if you're simply looking for a little flash and style (what was come to be known as "bling"), you'll find that manufacturers such as Geneva Watches that offer such timepieces of reasonable quality for much lower prices (generally in the $50 – 250 range). If you can afford a bit more, Ice Link has some unique and novel offerings that run from $1000 – 2000.

Caveat Emptor!

The old warning "buyer beware" is very applicable when it comes to shopping for diamond watches. It is not recommended that such luxury watches be purchased online except from the most reputable dealers. If you do buy such a timepiece from an Internet dealer, make sure that the dealer has been authorized by the manufacturer of the watch – and if their prices on diamond watches seem unrealistically low, move on.

Jonathon Blocker writes about diamond jewelry, colored diamonds, and certified loose diamonds. He is a consultant for GemFind.com, a trusted name in the jewelry industry since 1999.
