To set off a dress, there's nothing like a great pair of shoes. Take Cinderella's story, for example: without the right footwear, she never would have gotten her prince! When you've selected your evening gown, be sure to spend time finding the right pair of shoes to coordinate with it. If your gown has sparkles, find some diamond-embellished heels, or consider dying some slippers to match the color of your dress.
The shoes you wear say a lot about who you are. Shoes chosen for social occasions should usually be some shade of the main color in your dress. The shade chosen can be darker than the color of the dress but should never be lighter. This general rule can, of course, sometimes be broken.
What will always looks good and tends to add some spice and glitter to your look are metallic gold, silver or bronze leather shoes. These are particularly attractive with sexier gowns that have a side or back slit. Going a bit further, you can assuage your creative side by donning shoes that have some beads or some glitter. However, you need to be careful here and not over do it. A little is often enough.
Great news for plus size ladies - there are plenty of styles of shoes for you! First of all, heels are worn for dancing and social events - the glam factor events. If you can't tolerate a heel, find a shoe that has at least an inch or more. Plus size petite ladies should look at height as beneficial to them since their date might be taller.
It's possible to look as feminine, stylish, and elegant in your evening gown and shoes. For those summer months, wear attractive sandals and sling backs or open-toed pumps that complement your beautiful dress. Keep in mind, shoes pull your look together but don't detract away from the dress.
You should have beautiful looking feet if you decide to wear sandals without stockings or pantyhose. If you can't get a manicure by a professional at a salon, just give yourself one at home! To do this, first soak your feet in warm water and smooth out any rough areas with a pumice stone or loofah. Then trim and file your toenails so that they are straight and without any rough edges. Your polish should be suitable to the season and event, but doesn't necessarily have to match your fingernails. It's ok if you still don't feel confident about your feet and want to wear closed-toe shoes. Remember, the goal is to feel self-assured, sexy, and gorgeous - like the amazing woman you are!
